GROW YOUR OWN WEEK – 6th to 14th May –
A week of fork to plate activities launching the kitchen garden year
- Friendly advice available from our gardener on crop selection, rotation, planting and growing
- Free supporting recipe cards with vegetable plant and seed purchases to help make the most of a bumper crop
Sunday 7th May, 2-4pm - Kitchen Garden Cookery Demonstration with Chef Genna Waiting
Discover the delights of flavoured breads with simple home-grown toppings baked in the kitchen garden oven. Enjoy plenty of tasting opportunities while browsing in the nursery.
Saturday 13th May, 10am – 4pm – Get Kids Growing
Drop-in session for children to take part in a range of fun, growing activities to inspire the next generation of Monty Dons, Charlie Dimmocks and Alan Titchmarshes. It’s also an opportunity to try out our new children’s Veggie Soup Trail!
Wednesday 31st May, 2-3.30pm – Children’s Crafts

The Festival Players are back! After the sell-out success of Hamlet in 2016, the Festival Players Theatre Company returns to bring you this hilarious comedy, in an all-male, fast paced, costumed production – a feast of farce!

April - June: Laura Barnett
Natural Layers. This artwork has been created on linen, silk and cotton fabrics using layers of natural, eco- and rust dying and further embellished with layers of appliqué , hand embroidery, Kantha stitching and beadwork. All plants, berries, nuts and rusted metal used have been collected locally.
July, August and September: Lesley Maddock, her work is influenced by Klimpt and Van Gogh. She uses colour and texture enthusiastically in an attempt to share her love of nature. Oils, acrylics, metallic finishes, ink and collage are frequently applied to the same canvas with brush, pallet knife, fingers, sponge and anything else that seems appropriate at the time.
