The High Sheriff Visits Ford Park.

Writer's picture: Suzanne EdgleySuzanne Edgley

Last week the High Sheriff, Christopher Holmes and his wife Sue Holmes visited Ford Park,  along with trustees from Cumbria Community Foundation, Barbara Foster, Georgina Smith and Patrick Boggon.

They met with some of our volunteers and trustees in the garden; thankfully the weather was kind, before enjoying a tour of Ford Park.

Our park director Sam Ronson talked them through our plans for this year, which of course includes our new community room, which will be a WikiHouse construction made up of digitally fabricated blocks that can be assembled onsite with the help of the community.

The build will be constructed using responsibly grown wood which captures carbon from the atmosphere and stores it, meaning the new community room will be carbon negative.

A huge thank you to the High Sheriff for taking the time to visit and learn more about the Ford Park charity.

If you'd like to learn more about our plans for the new community room, check out our blog post HERE.
