"What do you love about Ford Park?" - that was the question our trustees asked members who attended the AGM back in January.
Thank you to everyone who contributed, the comments have been wonderful to read, and we included some of them as part of our 'Love your Local Park' social media campaign in February.
In case you missed it, here are just some of the wonderful things our members said...

"A breathing space for Ulverston. A welcoming community, the walled garden, the orchard - in other words, everything that is, and happens here."

“I love the way park users join together as a community of all generations and abilities. Users look out for each other and there is an atmosphere of sharing and, consideration, dog walkers, runners, volunteers. Families, teenagers etc. My favourite place is the new boules court (to be opened officially in spring). Young and old can gather there for friendly competition.”

"Ford Park is such a friendly place to spend time."

"Off lead dog space for training and dog socialising, and the garden."

"Open space with access to all, with interesting perfomances. Exactly what a community area should be."

"The mix of nature and people focused activities".

"The grounds are well maintained. Don't use it as much now as children are grown and with grandchildren but the play areas are very good."

"So much more than it first appears to be. Lovely walks and love sitting by the fernery, in the orchard and under the willow arch when the weather is fine. I've bought lots of plants and gifts from the little shop and find the team and the volunteers are all friendly and very helpful. Much loved park and great local charity."

"What do I like about Ford Park? The green open space, the much improved gardens and surroundings. The very good and regular comms, the varied events you pt on. Thank you all, keep up the good work."

"A lovely place for children to be outside and get some fresh air."

"Why do I love Ford Park? Nice plants and folk!" Andrew.

A huge thank you to everyone who shared their comments with us, it's meant such a lot to our team.
