Children loved visiting Santa at Ford Park.

What a fabulous weekend we had when Santa came to Ford Park!

Our team and volunteers spent weeks getting ready for his visit and lit up the whole garden to create a truly magical experience.

As children arrived, they headed to the Elve’s Workshop where they were greeted by 2 of Santa’s helpers who helped them to make a wooded decoration for their tree and write their wish list to give to Santa.

Excited children then made their way towards the fernery where they were entertained by 2 naughty elves as they waited to see the big man himself. It was a wet and windy weekend, but that didn’t stop the fun and laughter and didn’t dampen spirits.

Children were thrilled to see Santa sitting in his chair next to the tree, surrounded by presents. Lots of smiles, laughter and chatter as excited children told Santa what they wanted for Christmas, as he handed them a gift and magic reindeer dust to scatter outside their homes on Christmas Eve.

As they left the grotto, the naughty elves gave the children a reindeer trail sheet and asked them to help find Santa’s lost reindeer so he could take them back to the North Pole to rest before the big night.

Children and their families hunted reindeer, explored the lights in the garden, took photographs sat in Santa’s sleigh and enjoyed hot chocolate and mulled wine – as the true spirit of Christmas filled the park.

A huge thank you to our team, trustees and volunteers who worked so hard to create a magical weekend, and to our wonderful sponsors for their kind contributions.

Thank you to Booths in Ulverston, CGP Books, Charnley’s, Digital Woodoo CIC, Ellie’s Garden Centre, Asda - and of course Santa!
